Corruption: consultations with Transparency International 09 July 2008

As part of the consultation process of the research project on corruption and human rights, research director Magdalena Sepúlveda and Lead Writer Christian Gruenberg visited Transparency International’s (TI) Secretariat in Berlin. New report: Climate Change and Human Rights 24 June 2008

Policies on climate change have so far ignored its likely human rights impacts, according to our new report, Climate Change and Human Rights: A Rough Guide, published on 24 June. The report argues that human rights principles can guide climate change policy by focusing on individual suffering and exposure to risk. Continue

Corruption - Consultation 18 June 2008

The Council is preparing a report on corruption and human rights. The consultation on the first report has now closed. The consultation on the 2nd report will be announced soon.

Talking about Terrorism 21 May 2008

Have human rights organisations responded adequately to the threat of international terrorism and official responses to that threat? The new report Talking about Terrorism: Risks and Choices for Human Rights Organisations (summarised here) reaffirms that the core mission of human that the core mission of human rights advocates is to make sure that governments respect human rights and the rule of law. 11th Council Meeting in Kampala, Uganda 13 May 2008

The International Council held its 11th Council Meeting in Kampala, Uganda, from 9-11 May. Council members and international and regional guests discussed current and emerging human rights issues, including corruption, civil conflict, and questions related to sexuality. Continue

Terrorism and human rights 19 March 2008
