NGO Forum with the High Commissioner 04 May 2009

On 22 April, representatives of ICHRP attended an NGO forum with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navanethem Pillay, at which she reflected on the events of the Durban Review Conference on Racism. In a wide ranging discussion, Ms Pillay expressed her confidence in the progress made at the Conference, speaking enthusiastically about the consensus to tackle racism expressed in the Conference’s outcome document. She further reaffirmed her determination to continue working with NGO colleagues and State parties to ensure that progress continued to be made in the implementation of the agreement and towards the eradication of racism around the world.
