Racisme : racines économiques de la discrimination (2001)
Introduction
Établi en vue de la Conférence mondiale des Nations Unies contre le racisme, la discrimination raciale, la xénophobie et l’intolérance qui y est associée, ce rapport traite du défi spécifique posé par la discrimination tenace liée à la pauvreté. Ce texte affirme qu’une action coordonnée doit être menée dans toute une série de domaines politiques afin de mettre un terme à l’exclusion économique et raciale durable tout en proposant certaines des politiques qui doivent être associées pour permettre un changement sur le long terme.

Stephanie Farrior, a fait office de Rapporteure pour cette rencontre. Elle a établi une note de synthèse sur laquelle le présent rapport s’est appuyé. Au moment du projet, elle était Professeure de droit international à la Pennsylvania State University. Elle a également dirigé le Programme juridique et des organisations internationales d’Amnesty International. Stephanie Farrior a été membre du Bureau des directeurs du Center for Justice and Accountability et d’un State Chapter de l’American Civil Liberties Union. Elle a également été expert juridique dans le cadre de missions de droits humains au Yémen, en Inde, au Malawi et au Pakistan et a travaillé au sein du Mexican-American Legal Defence and Educational Fund. Stephanie Farrior est diplômée de la Harvard Law School, elle est aussi titulaire d’une maîtrise de l’University of Pennsylvania et d’un J.D. degree de l’American University. Elle est l’auteur de nombreux articles portant sur le droit international relatif aux droits humains publiés dans des revues telles que le Harvard Human Rights Journal et le Berkeley Journal of International Law.
